At HSBC, we believe that our success goes hand in hand with the health and vitality of the society. We work with NGOs and non-profit organizations to do what we can to help. Every year, volunteers have an opportunity to help the less fortunate, or to lend a hand to those affected by natural calamities.
HSBC’s service to the community is founded on responsibility, integrity, transparency and diversity.
Responsibility, which means being proactive rather than reactive.
Integrity, which is complying with state laws when conducting business.
Transparency, that assures partners and clients of honesty and sincerity in doing business.
Diversity, as staying true to our position as the world's local bank, and therefore employing a workforce that is free from bias and discrimination.
Once a year, HSBC takes time off to help with Gawad Kalinga villages in the Philippines. Just recently, around twenty staff volunteers took on the challenge of repairing roofs of houses damaged by Typhoon Reming in Camarines Sur. In 2006, HSBC helped repair fifty homes and distributed relief goods to typhoon victims.
Every year, HSBC signs up for Hands on Manila’s Serv-a-thon, an opportunity for volunteers to clock in a full day of community service. In 2007, HSBC was assigned to repaint the daycare room of the Muntinlupa Feeding and Minding Center.
