HSBC's Straight to Installment/Card Balance ConversionĀ Plan
Terms and Conditions:

  1. Under The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited's ("HSBC") Straight to Installment facility ("s2i"), HSBC cardholders in good credit standing ("Cardholders") may apply with HSBC to convert a non-installment or straight retail transaction (Straight Transaction) made using an HSBC credit card into an installment transaction under HSBC's Installment Plan (HIP), at the applicable minimum amount required for conversion and interest and other fees to be paid for by the Cardholder on an installment basis.

  2. The s2i request will be subject to verification and credit approval by the bank.

  3. Cash advances, interest charges, fees and unbilled installment amortizations may not be converted into installment via S2i.

  4. To convert purchases under s2i, simply call HSBC's Hotline at (02) 85-800 (for Metro Manila) or 1-800-1-888-8555. Conversion can only be effected if the request for conversion is made at least five (5) banking days before the Payment Due Date indicated on the relevant SOA.

  5. When making an s2i request through phone, the Cardholder will be asked to provide the following at the minimum:
    a) Cardholder Name; b) Card Number; c) Amount to be converted to s2i.

  6. The Total S2i amount plus its total Interest Amount shall be deducted from the available credit limit on the HSBC credit card account, which should be sufficient to cover the sum, at the time of approval, but shall be posted at Statement billing / cut-off date in fixed equal monthly installment amounts on each statement of account.

  7. The Total S2i Installment Amount is computed as the approved S2i Amount plus the total amount of the Interest for the chosen repayment period.

  8. HSBC shall have the absolute and exclusive right to approve or reject all s2i applications. Also, HSBC shall, at its sole discretion, determine and approve only a portion of the s2i Amount applied for without need to inform the Cardholder beforehand. The Cardholder shall be responsible for following up with HSBC on the status of his s2i application. In case of rejection of the s2i application, HSBC is not required to notify the Cardholder of such rejection and the reason thereof. For this purpose, the Cardholder may call (02) 85-800 (for Metro Manila) or 1-800-1-888-8555 (for domestic toll-free where available). HSBC shall not be liable for overdue charges of the Cardholder's HSBC card or the card account being overdue, or any interest or penalty charges imposed upon the Cardholder as a result of the declined s2i application.

  9. If the cut-off has already passed at the time of s2i approval, Cardholders will still have to pay the Minimum Payment due stated in his latest Statement of Account even if the transactions included are already converted to s2i. The Cardholder's payment will be offset in his next Statement of Account where the s2i conversion and the first s2i amortization are reflected.

  10. The monthly s2i Installment Amount including the monthly interest shall be posted as a purchase transaction on the HSBC Credit Card account and shall form part of the Total Amount Due on each statement of account. Cardholders shall have the option to pay the Minimum Amount Due, every month. If he does so, or if the Cardholder revolves any portion of the Total Amount Due in any given month, the s2i Installment Amount shall be included in the computation of the Finance Charge and Late Payment Charge (if applicable) for that month.

  11. Approved transactions for s2i shall be converted into installment using HIP and shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions and the HIP Terms and Conditions.

  12. Cardholders may inquire about the status of their s2i application by calling 85-800 or 976-8000 (within Metro Manila ), (02) 85-800 or (02) 976-8000 (for local mobile phones), 1-800-1-888-8555 (for domestic calls outside of Metro Manila), + [63](2)85-800-00 for international calls.

  13. All s2i Monthly Installment Amounts posted in the Cardholder's account shall not earn additional Bonus Points.

  14. Should the Cardholder cancel or pre-terminate his/her installment plan under s2i, the unpaid portion of his/her s2i installment plan will be posted back as part of his/her outstanding balance for the month immediately following cancellation. HSBC reserves the right to charge to the Cardholder's account Three Hundred Pesos (Php300.00) or 5% of the s2i Amount remaining unpaid as of the date of pre-termination, whichever is higher, as a processing fee for the pre-termination of the s2i transaction.

  15. The Terms & Conditions governing the issuance and use of the HSBC Credit Card and the HSBC's Installment Plan/RED Installment are incorporated herein by reference and made an integral part thereof.
