HSBC's secure online payment services
offer Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode that
provide you with a personal password for your credit
card from HSBC, giving you added assurance that only
you can use your credit card from HSBC* to make purchases
over the internet. |

How do HSBC's secure online payment services work? |
 |

Register for the secure
online payment service with your credit card from HSBC
by creating your password and personal message.

Shop online at participating merchants and pay with
your credit card from HSBC which you have registered*
for the secure online payment services. |

Verify that the authentication screen is genuine by
checking that the personal message is the one you created
at the time of registration. |

Enter your password to authenticate the transaction
and complete your online purchase.
HSBC's Verified by Visa is a new service offered by Visa
International that provides you with a personal password
for your Visa credit card, giving you added assurance
that only you can use your Visa credit card to make purchases
over the Internet. |

Can I register my existing primary personal credit card
from HSBC or will I need to apply for a new card to use HSBC's
secure online payment services? |

You won't need to apply
for a new personal credit card. You can register any
of your existing Visa and MasterCard credit cards for
HSBC's secure online payment services as long as your
card is issued by HSBC in the Philippines. |

Can I register more than one Visa or MasterCard? |
 |
Yes, you can register
all your Visa and MasterCard credit cards from HSBC.
Note that you may register your Visa credit cards only
for HSBC's Verified by Visa and your MasterCard credit
cards for HSBC's MasterCard SecureCode. |

Is there any charge for registration? |
 |
No, registration is
free of charge. |

If I lose a registered credit card from HSBC, will I
need to register the replacement card with the secure online
payment services? |

Yes, you will need
to register the replacement card to be able to use HSBC's
secure online payment services for that credit card. |

When I renew my registered credit card from HSBC, will I need
to re-register for the secure online payment services? |
 |
Your new card will
have the same number as your expired card. Therefore,
you will not need to re-register for HSBC's secure online
payment services. |

If I replaced a registered credit card from HSBC, will I need
to register the replacement card with the secure online payment
services? |
 |
If your replacement
card bears the same card number as your old one, there
will be no need to register. However if your replacement
card has a new card number you will need to register
again card to be able to use HSBC's secure online payment
services for that credit card. |

How do I register either my Visa or MasterCard for HSBC's secure
online payment services? |

Register for HSBC's
secure online payment services in the secure online
payment registration section of online@hsbc,
our internet banking service.

Create your own password for online payment authentication
and your own personal message which will be used to authenticate
you as the cardholder. |

3. |
After confirmation of your registration information,
the Terms and Conditions for the services will be displayed
for your acceptance to complete the registration process. |

After I have registered, how long will it take for HSBC's Verified
by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode to become active? |
 |
Once you have registered,
you will be able to use HSBC's secure online payment
services right away at participating online merchants. |

Greeting? |

When you register
for either HSBC's Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCodeTM,
you will be asked to create a personal message: a Personal
Assurance Message (PAM) or SecureCode Personal Greeting
respectively. When you pay online, always look for your
Personal Message to ensure that you're using HSBC's
Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCodeTM. |

What is a Password and SecureCode? |
 |
When you register
for either HSBC's Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCodeTM,
you will be asked to create a password or SecureCode
respectively. You are requested to enter your password
/ SecureCode each time when you make an online purchase.

For security reason, please do
not use your names, birthdays, ATM/Phonebanking/Personal
Internet Banking PIN and/or User ID as your password/SecureCode.
Memorize your password. Never write it down or reveal
it to anyone. |

If I have not registered, can I use HSBC's secure online payment
services when I shop online? |
 |
If you have not yet
registered for HSBC's secure online payment services,
any online purchase made at participating merchants
with your credit card from HSBC will be declined as
we won't be able to authenticate your card's secure
payment identity.

What shops offer HSBC's secure online payment services? |
 |
You can shop online
at any store that displays the HSBC's Verified by Visa
or MasterCard SecureCode symbols. You can also look
for the list of participating HSBC's Verified by Visa
and HSBC's MasterCard SecureCode online stores on the
Visa website: www.visa-asia.com/verified
and the MasterCard website: www.mastercard.com/securecd. |

How will the online store know that I am a user of HSBC's secure
online payment services? |

Participating online
stores will recognize the credit card number of your
Visa or MasterCard from HSBC if you have registered
it for HSBC's secure online payment services. |

What if I forget my password? |
 |
You may access online@hsbc
and view the Secure Online Payment Customer Profile
Maintenance section to reset your password. |

Can I change my password? |
 |
You can change your
password at any time. Passwords should contain six to
eight letters and/or numbers (with no spaces or symbols
in between), and must be different from your User ID
and your old password. Please note that passwords are
case sensitive. |

If I suspect someone has stolen my password or used it to make
a fraudulent purchase, what should I do? |
 |
You should immediately
report it to either Visa International or MasterCard
International and our Credit Card Customer Service Hotline
